For immigrant women in Australia

You have the qualification. You can’t get a foot in the door.

I came from Venezuela with a Criminology degree and exactly that problem. The way in is not what the government website tells you. I will show you how the Australian system actually works and help you land your first role inside it. Even entry-level. Especially entry-level.

Sound familiar?

You came here ready to do real work. The door has not opened yet.

  • ·Your degree is sitting in a drawer while you do support work that pays the bills.
  • ·Every job ad asks for “Australian experience” you do not have a way to get.
  • ·You have applied to dozens of roles. Most do not reply.
  • ·You have been told to “just retrain here”. You do not have three more years.
  • ·You can do the work. You just have not been shown how the door opens.

There is a way in. It is just not the one anyone has shown you.

Why me

I was sitting where you are sitting.

I came from Venezuela with a Bachelor of Criminology, frontline experience, and no idea how the system here worked.

I started where most of you start: support work shifts, agency rosters, the job under-titled and underpaid. Then I learned how NDIS, DCJ, OOHC and Youth Justice actually fit together. Where my qualifications could be used, where they could not, and how to position myself for roles that built on what I already knew.

Eight years later I founded Supporting Communities Australia and built the Elevate Youth Lab framework. The route I took was real. So is the route I will show you.

What the coaching actually does

Three concrete things, in plain language.

1

I map the sector for you

NDIS, DCJ, OOHC, Youth Justice, the lot. Where the work is, who hires, how each part pays. The version that exists, not the brochure version.

2

I decode “Australian experience”

What employers mean by it, what counts, how to translate your overseas work onto a CV that gets read, and how to talk about your training in interviews so it lands.

3

I help you land your first role

Even if entry-level. Especially if entry-level. From there you build Australian experience that compounds, and the next door is yours.

A note on what I do not do: I am not a credential conversion service. NAATI, VETASSESS and the regulators handle that. What I do is show you the system and help you start working in it.

When I first migrated to Australia, Yosmerys guided me through everything I needed to do. She gave me the confidence and direction I needed at a very important time in my life.

Honest fit check

Is this for you?

Yes, if you

  • ·  Have an overseas qualification (criminology, psychology, social work, counselling, similar)
  • ·  Want to build a career in Australian youth, disability or social services
  • ·  Are open to entry-level as a starting point, not the destination
  • ·  Will do the work between sessions

Not yet, if you

  • ·  Need official credential conversion (that is regulators’ work, not mine)
  • ·  Are looking for visa or migration advice (talk to a registered migration agent)
  • ·  Want a guaranteed job placement (no honest coach offers that)
  • ·  Are not ready to do support work as a stepping stone if it is the right move
